“…You continue to make progress with your studies, developing some engaging ideas and expanding the parameters of your practice…” (OCA Tutor)
“…There is scope to be more constructive with the materials you are collating and fully realise ideas to their potential..” (OCA Tutor)
This is the most controversial feedback during this course. I can guess because this part was not related to me. Even though political aspects remain actual, the final decisions remain just projects in my practice. Also, I don't get actual feedback on my colour fields as my main art practice. This may indicate either the inappropriateness of these works or their lack of solidity for consideration, for example, political issues.
Relational Aesthetics
“…it [writing and research] can appear somewhat arbitrary in relation to your own practice.”(OCA Tutor)
Good point, I'll cover it in the next part of the course.
Fine dining
“There is scope to build on the context here and bring these into the studio to inform creative work that expands on your experience and observations in a more meaningful manner. How does this experience relate to the trauma or war?” (OCA Tutor)
To be honest, it was not entirely clear to me that I could really make a significant connection between fine dining and what interests me. Since I received critical feedback and questions, I will develop this theory further.
Political Practice

“It seems like the idea stopped there and the seemingly challenging and contradictory context of the images was not fully reconciled.” (OCA Tutor)
It was just mentally hard. I felt that this was an ambiguous decision and yes, I saw the incompleteness ... but for me, it was a logical and consistent decision.
“There is great ambition here and some grand statement of intent that I suggest you glean some feedback on in order to affirm your thinking. Such as, it pulsates and communicates on sensory levels… causing movement through the complex layers of the subconscious and emotional tension… pave the way for phenomena such as epiphany and communion with the subject and experiencing the meaning of the loss of love and levels of healing. How specifically does the work do this? Can you back this up with a reference to colour theory, for example, or share some similar examples that have the same impact?” (OCA Tutor)
I'll cover it in the next part of the course.
Critical Review
“…the main thread of the text is unclear” (OCA Tutor)
“…more academic structure and analysis of some key artworks, artists or context in order to solidify your argument and the main reason for the essay… ” (OCA Tutor)
ok
“…Work on broadening your visual language by trying out some new processes,
materials and methods. Approach an exercise afresh, departing from established
ideas and approach to see where it takes you, expanding the boundaries of your
practice in relation to your thematic interests ” (OCA Tutor)
In my opinion, it is not right to start experimenting in my current situation. I believe my practice will benefit more from delving into the way I work and understanding what I'm doing, rather than looking for something new.
