My first impression after reading and seeing these works is the lack of craftsmanship.
What the artist writes about, the movement of the material, feeling the material, admiration for the process of change, and so on, this is all, for me, is embedded in many artworks and at the same time with due attention to the material through the individual prism of the artist. In the given examples, without these texts, the works would look the same as the works of many other artists. In other words, there is no recognizable language of the artist. And yes, it is not at all necessary that the artist has a recognizable style, I rather say that the object of art should cross the line between an object from life towards an object of art. Someone may say yes, but here it is the text that is an integral part of this work, and it is this text that transforms the burnt match from the category of an ordinary match into the category of an art object. And I can answer - this is literature. To create a vivid literary image, it is unnecessary to create demonstration material. It's like pictures in children's books. It turns out that we burned a match and described the combustion process.

The artist writes that she was inspired by the book Berger's Hold Everything Dear (2007) where he describes a tape stuck to a table and dropped to the floor. This is the finished literary image. It is surrounded by the reality of the protagonist and supported by the need to be present in this story. In our case, this is either an illustration for a book or an image taken out of context.

In my opinion, visual art itself should create colourful and emotional images, that attract and interest the viewer. I see the tasks of art in something else, and this is neither good nor bad. It's just that all people and artists are different. For me, art is created for beauty, pleasure, healing, asking questions, challenging consciousness, and catharsis (becoming better).
When someone tries to explain the artwork or tell me what I should feel or see, I have an ejection reflex. This is how propaganda uses figurative art to show power and attractiveness and hide everything bad. At the same time, it is also important to accurately describe what needs to be done for the common population, since it is essential for propaganda that there is no dual understanding of things. Such a direct statement and communication of information simplifies a lot of things and cuts corners.
Therefore, a clear description of the work process in the case of drawing the same lines according to a template is a narrative with a visual illustration that takes away from me the pleasure of finding an answer and interpreting a visual image.

With all my description above, the artworks by Jaimini Patel generate a lot of discussion and evoke strong emotions, which is a sign of good art. Unless, of course, in the world of contemporary art, such terms can be distinguished))))
