The task in this figure was to convey as close as possible to reality the pose of the model, the proportions and the atmosphere. Since the model is 85 years old, I did not want to change his favourite place to the position with side light. And it was also impossible to change the reclining position. I took it as a challenge - backlight and difficult body movement. For such a position, one hour is not enough. But, I am pleased with the result.
The movement of this posture is conveyed artistically; it seems to me that even the careless lines of a pencil convey the atmosphere of dim light, tranquillity and mystery.
Working with proportions, as always, was the most difficult. I used the visual measurement with a pencil and tried to think about decreasing in proportions due to the depth of the sofa.
The proportions in my opinion, for the most part, are true, but there is no limit to perfection.
