I started the process by simply combining materials.
And so, step by step, parallel to the work, and sketched out my copy of "Serra's Verb List".
My verbs and their possible context are:
to tie
to nail
to twist
to paint
to rip
to glue
to open
to hang
to imagine
to hide
to arrange
to conjure
to saw
to scratch
to pour
to sew
to call
to stream
to shoot
to feel
the material
the shape
the texture
the colour
the length
the rhythm
the time
the width
the sensation
the place
the context
the nature
the purpose
the meaning
the structure
the space
the virtual
the surface
yourself
the result
I used each of these verbs in the process, but there was no balance. And just thinking with the material in my hands, I moved step by step.
It turns out that I copied what I see, but in other words (materials). And suddenly I saw the whole picture. It was materiality. I made a wooden frame as a base. It was logical to place objects on walls and any other convenient places. But I thought why I am going into details I need to look in whole. I liked how the rope continues the rhythm of the space of the stand and lid, therefore I used it as a support. I began to shove the newspaper right into this void. And then everything became clear to me. Here it is materiality. There was nothing, empty space, but I made a base and then gave a body to that base. I filled the void with the material. And this materiality is not only in objects or tactile (skin), but also spiritual materiality.
