Part One: Field Work Assignment one. Reflection on Tutor Report 1

“The ambition and context of your assignment maquette is excellent. The form and composition of the work are presented professionally and you have considered a wide range of aspects of the work's placement and construction.” (OCA Tutor)

“The participation of people adding recycled materials and the temporary state of the installation aligns with the changing effects of waves and the environment, which is both poignant and topical, raising awareness of the pollution of water and the importance of sustainability and creating work that reflects current global issues.” (OCA Tutor)

I felt that my public project carried more connotations than even I can see. And just here it is well-reflected.

“…there is scope to explore some alternative configurations of the work to expand possible alternatives. This would enable you to compare and contrast ideas in order to reinforce your final decisions on placement and installation.” (OCA Tutor)

The study of additional configurations to clarify the positioning and installation of the project may seem reasonable. I can imagine that the curves of the waves may be slightly different or the height of the construction, but it also seemed to me that I worked through all these nuances... The colour cannot change cardinally, the size too... Probably my creative baggage was somehow limited here. Do not understand what to do more?)

“You have reflected on the conceptual relationship with playgrounds and the entertainment aspects of art. This is an interesting observation that is worth exploring further, analysing the distinctions between such structures and how art is traditionally seen as exclusive and untouched yet increasingly interactive and activated by the viewer. …

Thomas Hirschhorn

Are there other practitioners that have informed your ideas? ” (OCA Tutor)

I suppose that I will do the research separately from this reflection.

“You have presented ideas and materials for your Parallel Project but it is unclear what the context of this will be. I suggest formulating your ideas for this in more detail and set out a project plan that will enable you to develop a body of work that complements your work from each part.”(OCA Tutor)

Yes, indeed, when I reread the materials for my Parallel Project, it is not clear what I want to focus on. At first, I wanted to delve into the analysis of colour and synaesthesia, but this idea seems superficial to me. Because no one but me feels the colour, and this is a big limitation. Or at this point colour need to be something more than just my emotional experience.

Another idea I had was to search general approach to the sculpture through colour. Inspired by Phyllida Barlow I tried to search myself but lost track along the way.

Then I experimented with NFT. As I understand now there was a problem with the videos (I find out where was the problem) therefore I repeat them here one more time as they were important for my thinking process…

And thinking process ;)

But now I am returning to my course after a two-month break. During this period, something terrible happened that changed a lot, so I will return to the definition of my Parallel Project separately.

“At this level it’s increasingly important to develop personal contextual references and build upon your knowledge and understanding of contemporary sculptural practice.” (OCA Tutor)

Good. Clear task.
