Project 4 Implicit form

Implicit forms, 2020, spray, acrylic, plastic net, threads, felt-tip pen, pencils on paper, 70 x 100 cm.

Implicit form, 2020, metal mesh, wooden support, ultraviolet strands, blacklight lamp, 40H x 39L x 14W cm.

The movement of the metal structure drawn my attention.

The dynamics and lines reminded me of the work of Naum Gabo.

And since before that I "sewed drawings", I decided to sew parts of one as an experiment. It turned out that a simple connection of two corners of the same plane gives a new, invisible shape of its movement. In other words, the inherent movement in its original form has received a visual embodiment.

I led a drawing parallel to the work on the sculpture.

It turned out that several similar revelations are concentrated in this drawing. On the one hand, such a latent shape can be depicted as shown in the upper right corner, but on the other hand, the figure remains flat.

Even if we make a collage, all the elements of the image still belong to one surface. This gives rise to a more metaphorical understanding of form. It seems that lines are going inside the drawing, but we know that it is drawn on a plane. That is, I'm trying to create an illusion on the flat paper. That is what was hidden turned out to be the most interesting. The bright colour of the ultraviolet distinguishes this form from the darkness as if turned off the light would reveal a mystery.

I am looking for such a revelation in digital technology, plastic and my cultural background. Using the example of these works, I again realized that texture, physicality is important to me, and this is not the case in the digital world.
