SC5STP - Sculpture 2: Studio Practice. Learning Outcomes
LO1 develop a body of work that is rigorous in its engagement with conceptual
and practical skills
It seems to me that I managed to create a number of works that consider not only conceptual issues but also those that are especially important to me now. During this part, not taking into account my moral state, several sculptural compositions were created, tests and experiments were carried out, and I dared to make a large mural (unfortunately, which was postponed indefinitely).
LO2 demonstrate how research has informed your practice
Any research I do stays in my head. No one knows when this information will be needed, but for example, after analyzing Louise Bourgeois, I return to her work again and again in My War Critical Review for instance.
Research directly influences my work, this is also evident by paying special attention not only to the artists but also to the director (Todorovsky), and writers (Sebastian Haffner, Viktor Frankl).
For a big side project, I had to sneak into the graffiti world, which was very exciting.
LO3 evidence your engagement with experimentation through your practice
The very nature of my work pushes me to experiment. That is a different form, volume, quality of the material, the project on the wall ...
And my favourite test with water:
LO4 situate, reflect and critique on the work and practices of sculptors and
reflect on your own learning
After visiting Art Basel for the first time, I wanted to take a closer look and compare myself with some artists.
I liked the study of "Materiality of form" when I compare completely different artists on the basis of some kind of unity. I decided to use the same approach on the topic of war. And I was surprised before I had not thought about the meaning of frescoes and mosaics in the ancient world on the theme of killing.
I did a deep analysis, which I had been thinking about for a long time, based on environmentally friendly materials, and I realized that my materials are not as scary as I imagine them to be. And the biggest conclusion I've come to is that aggression breeds aggression. Activist violent protests throwing paint over masterpieces of art is the wrong attitude towards ecology, as these few attacks now have a connotation of destructive activism. But the right thing is to work on the state/ecology of the mind.
