Reflective surfaces and framed views - a stage on which to perform. The mirror as a stag

I didn't understand how you can use oil or watercolour to create a reflective surface, so as always I had different thoughts on this matter.

The first test was with reflective sprays on uneven surfaces.

Silver does not reflect much, but nevertheless, with a change of light or the appearance of a person opposite, the surface begins to play with new colours.

The golden work was the test of form. At first, it was blue, then red, and then it became gold. It was reminding me of pillows on the wall, and somehow I didn't like it.

I added different materials on the surface, changed the presentation of the work: on the wall, on the bed, on the floor, but everything was not right, so I gave up on this idea.

How do I understand if the work is going to good or not? I think it is all about the feeling inside. At this moment everything is important, and composition, and idea, and colour, material, context ... when all these elements are out of balance or do not provoke, then there is no feeling of flight.

After all, I ended up repeating my first experiment with metal, but now I tried my new invention - drawing with a screwdriver.

I still like the play of reflection and the words.

Many meanings can be composed and interpreted here.

Therefore, I focused on the quality of the lines, their balance, the choice of the words themselves.

I left one part completely unmarked. I thought for a long time about the word itself - the future or the next or tomorrow, and it was all wrong. We don't know what will happen next, do we? And the words themselves are all human inventions.

I write in English, and for a lot of people, these words won't mean anything. Art is in itself a definite language. (It seems to me, better to stay in the field of communication with the methods of art and not get carried away by poetry. But the combinations are always interesting.)

When I was working on this idea, I thought that the selfie on the phone itself is already a mirror. Only we began to treat this mirror differently.

Each selfie is a work with a mirror, with a reflective surface in which we find our best image or emotion.
