Once again I put together a collection of works that inspire me. Abstract works with a pronounced plot and texture. They contain layering and there is a story about one subject. The texture is complex and interesting to study. The shape of the lines and forms is complex and diverse, which also holds the viewer's attention.

I tried to focus on these aspects. And experimenting with the material, I got such works.

The simple shape of the ball seemed to me one of the simple ways to hold attention and start developing the topic. I like to create space in my work by playing with tone and shadow. Although color and line themselves do not require more, they can be an independent subject, such as Franz Kline or Morita Shiryu. But today, as it seems to me, there is no volume in the works of Kandinsky or Basquiat. This is paint on a flat surface. Which is certainly beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, but there is the potential to return the volume to abstraction. After all, working in Photoshop, artists (Petra Cortright) turn this volume into a reflection of our time and possibilities.
As an innovation for myself, I tried to create a texture of chalk powder and sand. The result seems interesting to me since the contrast between the shiny, simple layer and the rough volume is intriguing.

I tried using recognizable objects. Houses with a broken shape are very eloquent. I embroidered their shape and then added color. The tone came with the time of year. When it’s cold outside and it rains, the bright color did not work out.

I want to develop this topic with a broken form, as the work is getting tense.

With the portrait, everything was much more complicated. If you just use a photo, as a rule, the look of the model is well suited for photography but not for painting. In artistic practice, a portrait should have a riddle or some kind of strain. What do artists do in such cases? They either cover their face with paints, form or something else, or they deform it. The mistake in my work with portraits was that a person’s expression was copied directly and not poetically.
But in the final work (Assignment 5), the face was either absent or hidden, which created interest of viewer.
In general, looking at the work of the famous artist and not very, which is also interesting when the artist brings his nationality or his deep interest in the art work.
