I went for a walk just because I needed to go out with my dog because in China not each day is a good day. These days pollution level was 250 index (PM2.5) on average. For comparison when in Germany the index is more than 45, they would stop traffic in the city center. Here some photos from Shanghai November 2018.
With a big mask, I draw some sketches but I didn’t enjoy it! A light was dull and if the sun came out it was in smog. My mood was also grey and sad. I wanted to be focused on a tone and contrast but it didn’t work.
Looking out of the window was boring and upsetting.
But what was fun that my friends asked me to finish some paintings which were created by kids and during friends meeting. I used this chance to experiment and test David Hockney style which I wanted for a long time. Creation of an imaginary world worked better for me. Here I thought about the division of space, texture, repetition of large and small shapes and etc.
