My favourite sketch was created on iPad. As this is a new tool for me – I search the way of expression in the digital form. I intentionally don’t want to watch videos – how to paint on the iPad as I really want to go my own way. I will integrate digital drawings where I believe it is appropriate. One thing I want to mention – in iPad drawing I personally miss the volume and texture.
For more than a year I didn’t draw a tree. I forgot how beautiful they are! So, in order to refresh my academic skill, I copied the drawing. Not that I like it, but I thought it is a good way to start.
Then I did samples with different materials – not each material fit to every tree and to the way of presentation.
And in the end, I trained my Chinese style drawings… It was a disaster! OMG! It is so difficult and to get a beauty of the line you can spend hours. At the end I was upset, so I took a charcoal and complete the areas which especially were disturbing me. I love this technique but if I want to integrate into a figurative drawing I need to train more.
