I have formulated several headings (sections) under which I collect materials - books, artists, theories, and exhibitions.
The first heading is "Propaganda".
Propaganda killed my relationship with my parents and caused me irreparable trauma. Propaganda is the manipulation of people's consciousness, which also shapes our opinions and views. I see this title as the beginning of my story, as the cause of destruction and the conflict.
The next heading for me is “Synaesthesia”.
Because this is my first reaction to any event for me. As soon as a strong impression hits me, and such was the beginning of the war, the development of relationships with loved ones and the pain of the destruction of the past, I experience sensations of colour, or colour and shape as a reaction. Initially, these feelings led me to art, but now I am beginning to see synaesthesia as a big influence on what I do in connection with the global tragedy.
One more heading - "Unconventional Materials and Personal Narratives".
My unexpected passion for old wooden materials and building debris also found its explanation in my childhood. It seems to me that this is a very important “appropriation” or “choice” of the material. This is the history of the work and residence of the material, embodied with the personal narrative of the artist. This is an important means of communication and this is where the artist finds his personal voice.
And the last heading is "Aesthetics and Critical Thinking."
What is why I create my work, among other things, is living and creating aesthetics and communication with the viewer. Aesthetics, in my opinion, cannot be evil. Therefore, the creation of everything new - aesthetic, but not beautiful, will strive for provocation and an active dialogue with the viewer. Thus, I want to provoke critical thinking in him.
A summary of my thoughts on these headings might be:
A fatal event occurred, the cause of which was many years of propaganda. It shaped new social norms and aesthetics in my society. Emotionally, I was involved in global events through destroyed personal relations. These emotions are manifested by bright synesthetic outpourings in my works. Therefore, it is important for me to explore the translation of this trauma into a tool for communication.
